Though Black Duck was founded in 2003, we've been very much in an "innovation" and "startup" phase since mid-2014 when CEO Lou Shipley took the reins. Black Duck is Lou's sixth New England tech startup. Over that short time span we have gone through dramatic change in terms of our product development, market focus, market messaging, and very importantly, our sales model. In short we are a New Company and are facing all of the opportunities and challenges of a New Company. We look forward to an interactive discussion that will be led by Lou and other executives on how we are transforming Black Duck by changing our market focus from open source compliance to open source security where the opportunity for customer acquisition and revenue growth is much greater; and by embracing and perfecting a high-velocity sales model pioneered in Boston that is the envy of and being copied by Silicon Valley. We expect our guests will be very interested in what can be achieved when product innovation is matched with skillful sales execution. Of course we'll take a bit of time to tour our high-energy, open office space, a talk about our expansion.
